Yamaha usb midi driver mac 10.117/6/2023 ![]() In the actual studio I naturally couldn't change anything, since the ports and everything else are already defined by the driver (it's like a read-only information). ![]() Your suggestion got me experimenting a little with Midi Studio (which I hadn't used or noticed before!). I'm now hoping the new OSX update might solve the problem.Ĭan you change the PSR-3000 port configuration via MIDI Studio (Audio MIDI Setup application)? In LPX 10.2.2 clearly port 1 of the PSR is missing. One can see the available ports for the external instrument track in the library. I have two screen shots taken during the creation of a totally new project, one from Logic 8 and one from LPX. In the library I can see all ports intact. Comparing this with Logic-8 which I have running on an older PC (you cannot directly select the ports at creation in logic-8, but you create the track first and later select its port in the library). ![]() There it is seen that port 1 for PSR is missing but all 4 ports of the motif are there. When creating a new External Instrument track, in LPX you can immediately select the port you require at creation. The driver should configure 4 ports for the motif, port number 1 is the one to be used for normal midi ON/OFF and sysex signals, etc, and 2 ports for PSR, also port number 1 is to be used. The basic problem is now quite obvious and it is down to the fact that the ports are not correctly configured. I have another Yamaha keyboard (Motif), this one works, although the two keyboards share the same driver. The immediate symptom is that I lost midi communication between Logic and the keyboard. They said it was either a Logic or an OSX issue. After some experimentation and mail exchanges, they referred me back to Apple. I had been in touch with Yamaha in case it was a driver issue. Anyway, I was hoping the problem might be solved in LPX 10.2.2 but after upgrading last night, well, it wasn't. ![]() The problem started after upgrading to LPX 10.2.1 (at the same time I upgraded OSX from 10.11.2 to 10.11.3).
